Cowlitz River Cabins, located just off Highway 12 in between the small communities of Randle and Packwood, is one of the best places to head to when looking for a place to spend the night when you visit Mt. Rainier. It not only is a very beautiful place to stay at, it’s also conveniently located very near to some of the best parts of Mount Rainier National Park. It really can make any vacation to the area a whole lot better.
Cowlitz River Cabins is a first class establishment that delivers a fantastic overnight experience. It does this by offering some features that most other places don’t. The appearance of the vacation home is something to behold with its custom woodwork and log home qualities. This isn’t only true of the outside but of the inside too and it really adds to the experience of being there.
Our stay at the Rainier House at Cowlitz River Cabins was completed perfectly by everything there that made it even better than home. The kitchen is fully equipped and ready to help feed everyone in your family or group. The living aea is comfortable and features an electric fireplace, flatscreen television, and comfortable seating. There’s one bedroom upstairs and another on the main floor. There’s even a river rock shower that will knock your socks off.
You’ll be fine spending lots of time back at the cabin also thanks to everything outside. There’s a trail that leads right down to the beautiful Cowlitz River. There’s a large garden and if it’s in season, feel free to pick something. There’s a backyard fire pit that’s perfect for a late night fire, and even roasting hot dogs or making s’mores. There’s a wraparound deck and a covered picnic area that offers the same atmosphere that can be found inside the cabin. There’s even a hot tub where you can sit and enjoy the night sky and the peace and quiet.
In addition to all that can be found right there at the cabin, another great part about choosing to spend the night in Packwood at Cowlitz River Cabins is how close you are to everything that’s worth seeing. Within an easy drive from where you rest your head you can find the famous visitor center at Paradise, the historical Longmire area that includes the National Park Inn, Narada Falls, Reflection Lake, White Pass, Clear Creek Falls, the Nisqually Suspension Bridge, the Box Canyon of the Cowlitz, and even Windy Ridge and other viewpoints and sights inside the Mount St. Helens National Monument. Between all that is offered right there inside and out at Cowlitz River Canyons and all that can be found in the surrounding area, it’s obvious just why this is such a great vacation destination.
See for yourself!
